Warren gas price here highest in region
Gas prices in Warren remain the region’s highest in spite of a slight decrease across the region.
The price here held steady at $3.999 this week which, along with Mercer, is the highest in the region.
According to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, the average in the region fell a cent to $3.893.
Over that same period, though, the national average rose three cents to $3.85.
“This latest price increase comes after an uptick in gas demand and crude oil prices staying above $80 per barrel,” the report details. “Higher demand, amid tighter supply, has helped to keep pump prices elevated.”
Oil prices pushed nearly $85 and the report states that would be the highest since mid-April.
“Prices have increased amid market optimism that oil demand will be more robust than expected during this half of 2023 and into 2024,” the report states.
Oil prices saw a slight dip last week in the wake of a drop in the U.S. credit rating, “increasing market fears that oil demand could decline if the economy eases
“Last month’s extreme heat also played a role in the recent gas price spike as some refineries pulled back on production, but operations are now returning to normal.”
