The Huddle to hold events throughout week at Warren County Fair

Submitted photo Christopher Blakeslee, owner and founder of 716 Puppet Productions and resident of Jamestown, is pictured at Cassadaga Job Corps performing with his ‘friend’ Steve-A-Reno in June. Blakeslee will be preforming and supporting the Huddle’s setup and venue at the upcoming Warren County Fair.

WARREN — Noah’s Ark will be the ongoing theme for the local group The Huddle during the Warren County Fair.

The Huddle is a non-denominational, Christ centered men’s gathering that holds meetings in Warren. During the Warren County Fair — taking place from Aug. 7 to 12 — the group will hold a variety of activities for both kids and adults on the fairgrounds. Scheduled activities include movies, stories and coloring time for the kids. A photo stand-in featuring Noah’s Ark and the animals will be set up for photo opportunities as well.

The theme for the week is “Noah’s Ark — A God Encounter”. There is a separate theme for adults — “As In The Days of Noah”. The plan is that while the kids will be doing their activities, the Huddle will also talk with the parents.

“We want kids to see God’s purpose in Noah’s Ark and through their own lives,” Huddle member Rick Russ said. “For the adults we want to discuss the biblical times of Noah and how they compare to today.”

Monday through Saturday that week, The Huddle will be holding a worship and prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

At the end of the fair week, the group is welcoming 716 Puppet Productions to come put on a show for the kids. Christopher Blakeslee, Jamestown resident, ventriloquist, and owner and founder of 716 Puppet Productions will be performing with his puppet “friends” and supporting the Huddle at the end of the week. Blakeslee will perform twice, Friday Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. and Saturday Aug. 12 at 1 p.m.

“It’s the grand finale of our week,” Russ said. “We want to encourage everyone to come.”

The Huddle holds meeting sessions throughout the year, and sessions begin again in September. On Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. the group will be meeting at 306 Conewango Avenue in Warren. The meeting will include a small meal and the session will be focused on a book by Tony Dungy.

The Huddle’s mission statement is focused on being similar to a huddle in football, the group works to bring together men of various backgrounds and experiences to help overcome issues people face in life. The group welcomes everyone to join them at the Warren County Fair and their upcoming session.

Starting at $3.50/week.
