Gov. Shapiro lends support to Front Porch Days

Gov. Josh Shapiro has issued a proclamation in support of Warren County Front Porch Days.
This year's Front Porch Days event is set for this weekend – Aug. 12 and 13.
The organic conversation that comes with Front Porch Days will be accompanied by a community sing along on Sunday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. That'll be held at the DeFrees Pavilion at Betts Park.
"We feel it is a positive step to having Warren County recognized as the home of Front Porch Days," one of the organizers, Doug Hearn said. "I know that has been a goal of my friends and I.
"It is my pleasure to join Warren County to support August 12-13, 2023 as Warren County Front Porch Days," Shapiro's letter states.
"Warren County Front Porch Days began in 2020 when members of the community participated in outdoor events to demonstrate the importance of neighborhoods and friendships," his letter continues. "Since then, Warren County Front Porch Days have become an integral part of the Warren community that helps enrich the lives of its members through cultivating strong relationships.
"This event reminds us of the importance of growing and supporting one another and I am confident this event will continue to have a positive impact on Pennsylvania for years to come."
"We are starting to get interest in WCFPD outside of Warren County," Hearn said. "Others are asking how they too can create a Front Porch celebration in their county. I always say it does not take lots of detailed planning, it takes a willingness to reach out to neighbors and learn more about each other."
