92nd Warren County Fair officially open

The 92nd Warren County Fair officially opened yesterday, but it’s just getting under full swing today with the “Chute-Out” rodeo and crowning of the fair queen and court tonight.

“We’re happy to present the 92nd Warren County Fair,” fair board President Dale Bliss said. “It’s Warren County’s premier event.”

Bliss said he expects a good turnout again this year.

“Annually tens-of-thousands of people come to enjoy all the fair has to offer,” he said. “Folks look forward to a week of family and fun. It’s more or less a reunion for everyone in Warren County. Everyone comes home for it.”

The fair has lots to offer again this year. Motorsports events are featured daily Tuesday through Saturday. Sideshows will be offered daily starting tomorrow. Concerts slated this year include Tracy Byrd tomorrow, Jake Worthington Wednesday and Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Freebird on Saturday. Saturday night will be capped off with fireworks at 10 p.m. That’s just a fraction of all there is to see with other shows, events and demonstrations throughout the entire week.

Of course, the things that make the fair what it is will also be on-hand.

“People come to enjoy the carnival by Penn Valley Shows,” BLiss said. “They look forward to the animals in the barn with Warren County youth at their best. If people need another reason, there’s always the food.”

Putting the fair together is no small task either. It takes the efforts of a small army.

“The Warren County Fair Board of Directors and hundreds of volunteers work all year long to make the Warren County Fair one of the best in the commonwealth,” Bliss said.
