Submission window opens for 4th annual photo contest
The submission window is open for the Warren County Conservation District’s fourth annual photo contest.
Photographers can submit 8-by-10 matted photos without frames to the WCCD at 4000 Conewango Ave. by Sept. 15.
Categories include creeks, rivers, puddles, ponds and lakes; mushrooms and fungus; furry friends in nature and an open “nature related” category.
“Only two photos can be entered in each category per entrant and photos must be taken in Warren County,” Jean Gomory, watershed specialist said.
There’s a $2 cost per photo and those submitting are asked to write their name, address, phone number, where the photo was taken and category on the back.
That will then set the stage for the judging process.
“The public is invited to come to the WCCD office between September 19 and October 2 to vote for their favorite photo in each category for the People’s Choice award,” Gomory said.
“Photos will be judged by members of the Warren Camera Club on October 5th and winners will be announced on October 9.”
Allegheny Outfitters has provided the prizes, which include $10 gift cards for First Prize and People’s Choice while a $50 gift card will be awarded to overall Best of Show.
Professional photographers – anyone who has ever been paid to take photos or sold photos of any kind – are not eligible. WCCD employees or directors on the district board are also not eligible.
