Steer Dump tickets on sale in advance of Fair week
Warren County Crime Stoppers is gearing up for the return of the Steer Dump at the Warren County Fair.
If you’re not familiar, the Steer Dump can accurately be described as cow patty bingo.
The show ring will be divided into small squares — this year by GPS — and a cow will be brought in. From there, everyone waits for the money-winning movement.
The dump is set for Friday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. at the Elwood National Forge Show Ring.
A total of nine prizes will be awarded – $1,000 for first, four $100 prizes and four $50 prizes.
Tickets are five dollars each and are available at several local businesses including Bent Run, Bella Capelli, The Plaza, YMCA and Ekeys.
The event is the sole fundraiser for Crime Stoppers, which assists law enforcement by providing both a tip line and rewards for information leading to arrests in certain cases.
Most notably that included a $2,000 award to the couple who spotted Michael Burham.
Crime Stoppers has been sponsoring the event since at least the early 1990s.
