School district, city to provide Summer Food Service Program
The Warren County School District and the City of Warren are working together to provide three locations for the Summer Food Service Program.
The SFSP provides free breakfast and lunch for children ages 18 and under during the summer, according to a Friday release from the district.
Meals will be available at Beaty-Warren Middle School starting Monday, June 12, with breakfast served from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.
Bag lunches will be available at Crescent Park and Lacy Playground starting the following Monday, June 19. At Crescent, lunches will be available from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At Lacy, the hours are 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
There will be no service during the week of July 4.
All meals must be eaten on-site.
Meals are funded through reimbursement from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Those who will be eating at the playgrounds are asked to arrive early to help staff know how many meals to order.
Menus will be posted on the WCSD website – wcsdpa.org – under the “For Parents” tab.
“Any organization in the area that offers summer programming for children and is interested in becoming a SFSP partner should contact Matt Jones WCSD Coordinator of Grant and Foundation Development at (814) 723-6900,” according to the release.
