Hundreds of Warren County School District seniors donned caps and gowns and received diplomas Friday evening.

Commencement ceremonies were held at each of the district’s four high schools.

As the next chapters in their lives begin, graduating seniors should “follow our hearts, discover new dreams, and chase those dreams,” Sheffield Valedictorian Lucas McNeal said Friday during his commencement speech.

“There’s no cap on the greatness we can achieve,” McNeal said.

He suggested that his classmates “be your own hero and rise up to your own greatness.”

There were 29 graduates from Sheffield among about 300 districtwide.

The keynote speaker at Sheffield was social studies teacher Joshua Bulicz, who was new to the school when the Class of 2023 was in ninth grade.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to witness you all grow into the remarkable individuals you are today,” he said. “You have inspired me beyond measure.”

“Success is not a linear journey,” Bulicz advised the students. “When you have obstacles, let them fuel your drive to keep going. Embrace failure as a stepping stone to success.”
