District reminds students and parents of dress code

In the middle of winter, a student dress code is generally not too hard to live up to.

As spring blooms and the weather warms, students can find themselves in violation.

“With spring on its way, we realize student clothing attire is going to change in the upcoming months,” Warren County School District Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Eric Mineweaser said.

The dress code applies for all district students – grades K through 12.

The district is looking for help from parents in avoiding any problems and has issued two blast calls and a blast text this week on the subject of the dress code, with a particular emphasis on Beaty-Warren Middle School.

“BWMS administration is informing students of the dress code procedures that were set forth and revised this past fall,” Mineweaser said.

The code requires that shorts, skirts, and dresses extend at least to mid-thigh and pants have no holes above mid-thigh. Tops must cover from shoulder to shoulder and not expose any midriff.

“If there is a violation, the administration addresses the situation with the student and appropriate measures are being put into place as we move forward,” Mineweaser said. “Along with all the other buildings, central administration and BWMS administration are working on the implementation and enforcement practices within the buildings while also trying to ensure the learning environment is disrupted as little as possible.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
