The Conewango Aeries 313 Fraternal Order of Eagles recently concluded its annual boot drive for local students as well as Head Start and I.U. 5 preschool classes.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles donated 255 pairs of boots, hats, gloves and scarves to the students in need in the school district, which includes elementary, middle and high schools as well as preschool classes. Aeries raise the funds for the boots drive throughout the year through a golf scramble held in September and a special bingo game every Thursday.

Guidance counselors have a big job of getting all the boots and winter wear to the students once they are delivered to the schools. A boot delivery crew of Dan Leasure, Dewey Anderson and Dave Moore did a great job of making sure the boots were delivered to each school.

“It is such a great feeling of accomplishment knowing we can help the families in need and provide them with new boots and winter weather gear for the season,” said Robin Anderson, boot drive coordinator.

Starting at $3.50/week.
