A Warren restaurant has a dish that has secured a spot as a finalist in a nationwide beer cheese competition.

Wicked Warren’s Beer Cheese Pizza is one of 13 finalists in the JTM Beer Cheese Throwdown.

“We are hoping that our small community can pull together and get us into the finals where we know we can bring home the win,” Rob Roth, Wicked Warren’s owner, said.

“The majority of our customers have experienced the awesome blend and overall taste explosion of this delectable recipe. Now it is time for the world to experience it.”

“Wicked Warren’s LLC was founded in January of 2021 in the midst of the pandemic,” Roth said, highlighting early struggles but also the ability to keep the doors open all of 2021.”

He explained that 2023 brought about staff changes “that really turned the brewery around for the better.”

“The addition of Misty Sandagata as Kitchen Manager solidified the entire team which already included a fantastic front-end staff,” he said. “Misty put together a solid kitchen staff which enabled her to focus on her culinary expertise.”

Sandagata is credited with creating the dish in the competition.

“I am thrilled that one of our favorite pizzas has the chance for national recognition,” she said.

Daily voting is open through March 31 at jtmbeercheesethrowdown.com and the two recipes with the most votes will be invited to participate in a final Beer Cheese Throwdown at the 2023 National Restaurant Show.
