A Russell man charged with sexually assaulting a child faces additional charges in the wake of a preliminary hearing.
Michael D. Wolfe, 18, Egypt Hollow Road, was charged earlier this month by City of Warren police with aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault.
A preliminary hearing in the case was held Wednesday and the following charges were added -- two counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, two counts of indecent assault, three counts of aggravated indecent assault and three counts of unlawful contact with a minor – sex offenses, online court records show.
Five of the additional charges are first-degree felonies.
"Charges were added by Assistant District Attorney Casey Strickland," District Attorney Rob Greene said. "Oftentimes charges are added or withdrawn at the preliminary hearing to more accurately reflect the criminal allegations against a defendant."
Court records indicate that Wolfe posted $25,000 bail on March 3, the day he was charged.
Police allege in the complaint and affidavit of probable cause that Wolfe inappropriately touched a juvenile female under the age of 13.
Allegations include that Wolfe made the victim watch pornography and would "offer her candy and his cellular device during the commission of this crime."
