An escapee from Warren County Jail has been found.

Sierra Tannler, 30, who allegedly walked away from her place of work release employment on Friday, Jan. 20, was found and returned to custody on Thursday, according to Warren County Sheriff Brian Zeybel.

Zeybel said Tannler was found in Pittsfield Township, east of Wrightsville, at a rural camp on Bull Hill Road.

She was located after a medical emergency was called in from a place that had been on his office’s list of possible locations for her.

“We developed information that took us to Bull Hill Road,” Zeybel said. “We checked that residence yesterday (Wednesday).”

Deputies did not find Tannler on Wednesday.

Warren County 911 Center received a medical emergency call shortly after noon Thursday that matched the Bull Hill Road location.

Since the location was of interest to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the call, with Pennsylvania State Police from Corry, as backup, Zeybel said.

“She was there,” he said, “not in good medical condition.”

Deputies took Tannler into custody and accompanied her on an ambulance to Warren General Hospital, Zeybel said.

There was nothing apparently suspicious nor nefarious about her condition, he said, speculating that she was suffering from exposure after being on the run for almost two weeks.

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, Tannler was under guard at the hospital.

“My guys are there,” Zeybel said. “She is in custody under guard at Warren General. As far as we know she is going to be treated and released back to the prison.”
