Pittsfield man charged with failure to register
A Pittsfield man deemed a sexually violent predator is behind bars on charges that he failed to update his address for his Megan’s Law registration.
Zackery R. Antoniotti, 33, 385 Main St., was charged by Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police on Friday with a single felony count of failure to register with the state police.
State police say that Antoniotti and two other men were walking in the westbound lane of US 6 in the area of the Forge curve on Jan. 25 when troopers offered courtesy transports to the three men.
Antoniotti told police, according to the affidavit of probable cause, that he had been living at the Main Street address but had to “rent a room at the Edgewood Motel … due to a lack of heat and living conditions of his previous address.”
He told police that he had been living there since around Christmas.
Two days later, state police started a Megan’s Law investigation when Human Services staff told troopers that Antoniotti was living at a different address than what is reported in the registry.
Troopers say that it was determined Jan. 30 that Antoniotti was the individual who had been given a courtesy transport.
According to state police, Antoniotti appeared at the state police barracks in Franklin to update his address to the Edgewood Motel. Troopers there told Troopers here that “Antoniotti did so while on his way to Mercer County, Pa., for court the following day.”
Investigators then contacted Antoniotti’s landlord, who told troopers that the “building was unsafe for living conditions, so he was forced to remove Antoniotti and others from the property” about one week before Christmas.
The landlord, who also owns the Edgewood Motel, told police that he allowed Antoniotti to “rent long term” at that location.
Troopers ultimately conclude in the affidavit that Antoniotti lived at the Edgewood Motel since Dec. 11 “and failed to update information relating to his registration requirements for Megan’s Law.” Police say he has 72 hours to update his address and “failed to do so,” living somewhere else for approximately 45 days.
Antoniotti is on the registry for child pornography (2016) and indecent assault (2010) convictions out of Mercer County.
