Erie man pleads to open lewdness

An Erie man who allegedly exposed himself to a minor at Washington Park pleaded guilty to lesser charges at a Wednesday preliminary hearing.

Jeffrey A. King, 60, pleaded guilty to a count of open lewdness.

Charges of indecent exposure and unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses were withdrawn.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, King approached the boy, asking him personal questions, and offering to give him a ride, in August.

The boy, under the age of 16, told police King’s genitals were exposed “intentionally,” in his car and on a park bench, according to the affidavit.

He said he then left the scene “and it appeared (King) was attempting to follow him,” according to the affidavit.

Police found King at Washington Park, matching the description given by the boy, and questioned him, according to the affidavit.

“He denied all of it,” police said.
