County names Veterans Affairs director

A veteran will lead the county’s office of Veterans Affairs.

Brenda Franklin has been selected as the county’s next veterans affairs director.

Warren County Chief Clerk Pam Matve said Franklin is a retired Air Force veteran.

“She brings an abundance of skills suited to the role, as well as a broad background in dealing with the Veteran’s Administration,” she said. “She is passionate about serving veterans and looks forward to serving those in Warren County.”

Franklin grew up in New Jersey and Florida and her husband, Brandon, is a Warren native.

Matve said they returned after they both retired from the Air Force to make Warren their “forever home” with their sons, Jacob and Mattew.

Franklin served for four years in the U.S. Army followed by seven years in the Army Reserves.

Graduating from Midwestern State University in 2000, Franklin subsequently received her commission in 2004 from the Air Force through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base.

She retired from the Air Force at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the end of 2021.

“Mrs. Franklin and her family are happy to make Warren their home, and look forward to serving the Veterans of Warren County,” Matve said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
