School board officers unchanged for 2023

The Warren County School Board has approved an unchanged slate of officers for 2023.

Paul Mangione remains board president and Donna Zariczny continues as vice-president following votes at Monday’s reorganization meeting.

Mangione was the only nominee for president.

After Zariczny was nominated for vice-president, Board Member Mary Passinger made another nominatioShe said her nomination of Kevin Lindvay was about creating competition and maybe getting some different members in leadership positions. Zariczny served as vice-president and president for multiple terms before stepping back into the vice-president role.

With Zariczny’s and Lindvay’s names in the hat, the nominations were closed. A vote on Zariczny was first. That vote was approved 7-to-1, with Passinger, but not Lindvay, voting against.

Board meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month – with some exceptions. The July meeting is set tentatively for July 17. The November regular meeting and December reorganization meeting are each set for the first Mondays in those months.

Meetings of the board’s committees will be held at 6 p.m. on the last Mondays of each month, except in May, October, and November, when the meetings will be held on the next-to-last Mondays.

All meetings are scheduled to be held at the district office in Russell.

The December 2022 committee meetings were scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19.

Starting at $3.50/week.
