Mrs. Claus spent some time visiting with children at Warren Public Library this week.

There was an after-school event on Monday, but she is also meeting with pre-school and day-care groups for about the next week.

“Mrs. Claus is spending a lot of time here,” Children’s Librarian Susan Slater said. “She’s very generous with her time and gives every one of them a gift”.

Claus kicked off the Monday event with a north pole story.

After that, she sang with and read to the youngsters, almost 20 of them, in the Children’s Department at the library.

Essie Farnsworth, 3, wearing glasses she earned when she was the Lights on the Bus at Christmas that go twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, fills a Christmas bag with gifts from Mrs. Claus at Warren Public Library.

She called for volunteers to help her sing a Christmas version of the Wheels on the Bus.

They even sang a raucous rendition of Jingle Bells – hoping that the people at the front desk would be able to hear them.

Claus helped each youngster with crafts and she encouraged them to fill up Christmas bags with a book, a pencil, a candy cane, and other items.

Elaina Suppa won the raffle and left with a basket full of Christmas items.

Claus even shared a secret with the children. “My name is Crystal,” she said.
