Several local law enforcement agencies in Warren County have been recognized for efforts at increasing motorist safety.

AAA East Central has awarded Gold awards, the second highest recognition available, to the Conewango Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Youngsville Police Department.

“We are honored to recognize these local departments for their efforts in the Community Traffic Safety Program,” said Terri Rae Anthony, safety advisor, AAA East Central. “Each organization has gone above and beyond their call of duty to make their community a safer place for motorists and residents.”

According to a statement, AAA East Central conducts a variety of free highway safety programs throughout New York and Pennsylvania focusing on all age groups and partners with law enforcement and safety agencies on initiatives to improve the safety of the community and local highways.

The awards appear based a department’s involvement in initiatives such as aggressive driver and seat belt enforcement programs, child car-seat checks, DUI enforcement and other offerings.

Starting at $3.50/week.
