The results of the Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest are in… and it’s a win.

There were 30 entries in four categories — plant life, livestock, storms, and rocks. In addition to the professional judging by members of the Warren Camera Club, there were 61 votes cast for the People’s Choice Award.

Laura Roth’s entry in the rocks category was named Best of Show. The contest is about more than decorating the WCCD foyer and awarding prizes – courtesy of Allegheny Outfitters – to local photographers.

“We hope to encourage people to spend more time outdoors and develop an appreciation for the natural world as well as the stunning scenes Warren County has to offer,” Watershed Specialist Jean Gomory said. “We get to involve the public in developing an appreciation of the natural beauty of Warren County.”

The winners were:

¯ Plant life — Taylor Chamberlin (first), Victoria Roth (second), Laura Roth (third), and Rita Goldthwaite (People’s Choice).

¯ Livestock — Rita Goldthwaite (first, second, and People’s Choice), and Nikki Bailey (third).

¯ Storms — Christopher Goff (first, third, and People’s Choice), and Britain Hollis (second).
