Spring Creek bridge plans available online

Plans for a bridge project in Spring Creek Township are available online.

The single-span, reinforced concrete bridge that carries Route 426 over Shirley Run about 4.5 miles north of the intersection of routes 426 and 27 will be replaced with a precast box culvert in 2024, according to PennDOT.

The bridge dates to 1935 and it classified in poor condition, according to PennDOT. About 850 vehicles cross the bridge each day.

A detour will be required during construction and is expected to be in place for approximately five weeks, according to PennDOT. The proposed 21.8-mile detour route will be posted using Route 27 and Route 6.

The plans and comment form, are available online only, will be up through Nov. 2, and can be found at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1.

Those who are unable to access the information online may give feedback by contacting Project Manager Mitchell Fabry at mifrabry@pa.gov or (814) 678-7353.

Starting at $3.50/week.
