Warren County had a high-placed visitor on Thursday.

A helicopter from Winco Powerline Services of Aurora, Ore., carried maintenance workers to a remote section of powerline north of Route 6 in Starbrick.

According to Winco Operations Manager Kyle Morton, the company’s helicopters are used for powerline maintenance and construction and provide quicker access to some locations than trucks.

The company was subcontracting for JW Didado of Akron, Ohio, on the job.

Information about the job was not immediately available.

The Hughes 469D four-seater seen over Starbrick is typical of Winco’s fleet.

Morton said all eight of the company’s helicopters are basically the same aircraft in about the same configuration.

Right now, in addition to the one working out of Akron, the company has aircraft in the Chatanooga, Tenn., area, El Paso, Tex., and three in Nevada.

Starting at $3.50/week.
