Times Observer photo by Josh Cotton Traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue was backed up by half a mile at times due to a paving project on the far side of the Glade Bridge down to the intersection of US 6 and Route 59.

A paving project near the Glade Bridge continued to snarl east-west travel in Warren County on Thursday.

Delays were reported ranging from 20 minutes to one hour throughout the day.

When the project kicked off, PennDOT said the work should be completed this month.

IA Construction of Franklin began work late last month on the 0.6-mile, $1.2 million job by milling the pavement from the intersection of routes 6 and 59 in Mead Township to the railroad tracks just west of the bridge.

The company put down a one-half inch scratch coat of pavement later this week, Cherry said. After that, a subcontractor will work on the walkway ramp and curbs at the end of the bridge.

IA will return to complete paving following that work.

The project also includes the installation of new traffic signals, according to PennDOT.

Starting at /week.
