Couple Wanted In Florida Charged In Warren County

Two people wanted on burglary and theft charges out of Florida were arrested Monday in Tidioute.

Cole K. Manning, 26, and Amber L. Meeks, 27, each face three counts of possession of firearms, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, a member of the Warren County Drug Task Force was notified by anonymous tip on Sept. 12 of a wanted fugitive from Nassau County, Fla., who could be found at a Tidioute address.

According to Action News Jax of Jacksonville, the couple broke into a neighbor’s home and stole more than $100,000 worth of items, including cash, collectible coins, and savings bonds.

They were arrested in October, according to Action News Jax.

According to the affidavit, within hours of hearing that the couple was in Triumph Township, Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies knocked on the door at the address and found Manning and Meeks inside.

“Mr. Manning answered the door, and he was advised that he was a fugitive and placed under arrest,” according to the affidavit.

“Manning allowed law enforcement to enter the residence,” according to the affidavit. Inside, officers saw a methamphetamine pipe, a shotgun, and a handgun.

Officers served a search warrant on the residence, according to the affidavit. They found “smoking devices… 15 grams of methamphetamine…” and a total of three firearms.

Manning and Meeks were arraigned separately Tuesday morning. They were both taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $100,000 bail.
