The county's unemployment rate was up in August.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (L&I), the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for Warren County was 4.7 percent in August.
That is up from the July rate of 4.2 percent.
According to L&I, there were the same number of people working in August, but more people in the labor force.
The local rate had been generally dropping since January, when it was 5.7 percent.
The unadjusted rate was also up - from 4.8 percent in July to 5 percent in August.
According to the data provided by L&I, the raw numbers show fewer people in the labor force (from 17,700 to 17,600), and fewer employed (16,900 to 16,700) in August, compared to July.
The lost jobs were in the manufacturing sector, according to the release.
Regionally, Warren County held the lowest adjusted unemployment rate in August. Meadville was slightly higher at 4.8 percent. Erie, Oil City, and Bradford had rates of 5.0, 5.1, and 5.6 percent, respectively, and Forest County's rate was 7.2 percent.
The statewide adjusted rate was 4.2. Nationally, that number was 3.7.
The unadjusted figure for the state was 4.8 and for the nation was 3.8.
According to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics at the U.S. Department of Labor, seasonal adjustment "is a statistical technique that attempts to measure and remove the influences of predictable seasonal patterns to reveal how employment and unemployment changes from month-to-month."
"These seasonal adjustments make it easier to observe the cyclical, underlying trend and other nonseasonal movements in the series," making it possible to make month-to-month comparisons.
