A salute to veterans was held Wednesday afternoon at Warren County Fair.
There were dozens of veterans gathered around Betsy Ross Gazebo.
Hot dogs were provided to veterans courtesy of Senior Helpers, which sponsored the event.
A table was set, but some special guests were missing.
Civil Air Patrol Squadron 505 of Warren County presented the Missing Man's Table ceremony.
"There is a group that cannot be with us today, for they have answered our nation's highest calling, and have yet to return from the field of battle," Lt. Col. Tom Brown said.
The symbolism in the ceremony included a red rose that "reminds us of our comrades-in-arms who have and continue to keep the faith.
A yellow rose was added to "commemorate first responders and law enforcement that have made that greatest sacrifice," Brown said.
Members of Squadron 505 placed four hats around the table - "the hats from the four services depict an unknown face representing no particular Soldier… Marine… Sailor… or Airman," Brown said.
Finally, the squadron members turned the glasses at the place settings upside-down - "reminding us that our distinguished comrades cannot join in the ceremonies today," he said.
Delores Stec and Brandon Gregg of the Warren County Veterans Affairs Office spoke about how the office can help veterans and the transition from enlisted to civilian life. Korean War Veteran Bunky Froman gave the blessing and Kelsey Angove sang the Star Spangled Banner.
