Fair Week is upon us.

Today marks the first day of the 91st edition of the Warren County Fair.

The Fairgrounds outside Pittsfield opens with the annual no-gate-fee day highlighted by the Warren County Fair Queen Contest at 7 p.m. at the Keybank Pavilion.

Today will also bring a draft horse fun show at 6 p.m. and a “Chute-Out” Rodeo at 6:30 p.m.

After a scare that there wouldn’t be rides at this year’s fair, the Midway will open at 1 p.m. Tuesday with rides from Penn Valley Shows.

Music at the Fair this year also starts on Tuesday with Travis Denning and Jake Worthington in concert at 7:30 p.m. at the KeyBank Pavilion.

Denning secured his first number one and GOLD-certified single in 2020 with “After A Few,” from his debut EP that debuted in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Country Albums chart.

He’ll be joined by Worthington who has released 2 EPs since his run as a finalist in the 2014 edition of The Voice.

Wednesday’s concert is set to be The Kentucky Headhunters, an amalgamation of honkytonk, blues and southern rock.

A local band — Blue Morning — will take the stage Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. and will recreate the music of British-American rock band Foreigner.

The concerts are free with paid gate admission.

This year’s family shows will include the Wheels of Agriculture Game Show as well as a Trivia Tractor and Oakley the Treeman, both of which will be roaming the Fairgrounds throughout the week.

And all the old favorites remain — Truck and Tractor Pulls on Friday, Stock Car Football and fireworks on Saturday and the barns and building exhibits.

Starting Tuesday, the gates will open each day at 8 a.m.
