Time Explorers is theme of Summer Camp

When you’re a Time Explorer, there’s really no deadline.

The theme of the Warren County Conservation District’s 2022 Summer Conservation Camps is Time Explorers, and there is still time to sign up without the need for rifts in the time-space continuum.

“Take an adventure back in time and experience the wonders of the past,” according to a release from WCCD. “Have fun and make new friends while we explore nature through time.”

Children’s Nature Camp (CNC) includes three divisions — students entering grades 1 and 2 (CNC I — July 26 and 27), entering 3 and 4 (CNC II — July 14 and 15), and entering 5 and 6 (CNC III — July 11 and 12).

“CNC will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the pavilion of the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area on Hatch Run Road,” according to WCCD. “Children will learn and discover the uniqueness and importance of water, soil, plants, and animals in our local environment. Kids in the Children’s Nature Camp will also have a chance to play in the stream and fish in the pond; where some campers have caught their first fish.”

“Our Kindergarten Nature Camp (KNC) is for children going into kindergarten this fall,” according to the release.

The camp is based at the same location as CNC and will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28. “This will be a fun-filled camp learning about water, plants, animals, and soils — be prepared to get wet and dirty. There will be crafts, games, and exploring in nature.”

KNC is limited to the first 10 applicants.

The application deadline for KNC and CNC is Wednesday, June 22.

The cost for KNC is $20 per child and for CNC it is $40 per child. Scholarships are available for all camps.
