Police investigating after body discovered in Warren

A body was found in Warren on Wednesday and police are investigating.

According to City of Warren Police Chief Joe Sproveri, an adult female was found dead at a home in the 600 block of Fourth Avenue.

Police were called to the scene for a report of a “suspicious incident” at about 2:20 p.m.

“The Warren Police Department is being assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Warren County District Attorney’s Office, and the Warren County Coroner’s Office,” Sproveri said.

Two Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit vehicles arrived at the scene shortly after 5:15 p.m.

“The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released when available and family notifications are complete,” Sproveri said.

In an earlier statement, Sproveri said the scene was being treated as a crime scene.
