Cub Scouts from all over Warren County gathered last week to drive off a marauding dragon.
Cub Camp was held at the Enchanted Forest of Trustworthia -- on Fox Hill Road in Pine Grove Township.
About 30 young scouts learned and practiced various techniques helpful in warding off unwelcome dragons.
They worked on their marksmanship with bow and arrow and BB guns.
A wizard taught them how to use solar magic (to make s'mores to keep themselves strong), some engineering to help build better defensive structures, and some magic to launch pop-bottle rockets into the sky.
At the forge, they learned how to craft weapons and armor and other useful items.
There was sword practice and the Scouts worked through an obstacle course using several different types of animal walks.
The camp wasn't an entirely military one. There was time for the Scouts to enjoy some arts and crafts, choosing plants and decorations to go with them.
The final non-violent push against the dragon used Scout Law.
The beast was vanquished as Scouts, who had leaned some American Sign Language at camp, came together to cast a great Scout-Law spell, according to Dr. Ruth Barnes-Shaw.
