Big Dig: Fuel storage tank to be removed this week

Times Observer photo by Brian Ferry The fuel storage tank at Choice on Pennsylvania Avenue in Warren is exposed Wednesday and will be removed soon. The store has not sold fuel in three years.

The fuel tank is coming out of a downtown Warren store.

Choice, 215 Pennsylvania Ave. W., in Warren, has not sold gasoline for three years, according to an employee.

The sign along Pennsylvania Avenue showed a price of $2.69 per gallon as recently as this week. Customers still pulled in to fuel up from time to time, according to the employee.

The main storage tank was revealed earlier this week and is expected to be removed on Friday.

The store will remain open and the additional space created by the removal of pumps and canopy will eventually become an enlarged parking area.
