Carnival rides are back on for the 2022 Warren County Fair.

The Fair announced in a Facebook post Tuesday morning that an agreement has been reached with Penn Valley Shows, LLC “to provide a number of rides, games and food concessions for our midway.”

It appeared back in March that carnival rides were going to be absent from the 2022 edition of the Fair.

The company that had provided the rides at the Midway gave the Fair board notice when it merged with another company that it expected to lose some of its schedule.

Between that notice in December and when a no-ride announcement was made, Fair Board President Dale Bliss told the Times Observer in March that they had been talking with carnival companies but “these companies just didn’t have our dates available.”

With Tuesday’s announcement, Fair officials announced another new attraction for this year, the All-American Petting Zoo and Pony Rides from Ridgeland, SC.

“The Warren County Fair Board of Directors would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to seeing you in August,” organizers say.

The Fair is set for August 9-13.
