Public meeting set for city’s comp plan
The success of the City of Warren’s next comprehensive plan is tied directly to the community’s buy-in.
A meeting scheduled for next week provides an opportunity for residents to provide their vision and thoughts on the future of Warren.
It’s set for next Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Randy Rossey, the city’s director of codes and planning, said the development of the plan has been ongoing for the last eight months.
“The city is seeking input on what priority actions need to be implemented to address issues that have been identified through previous public outreach last fall,” he said.
A couple invite-only stakeholder meetings have been held as well as a public meeting to work through that process. Public surveys have also been part of the process.
“The input session will include a brief presentation from city staff and project consultants,” Rossey said, “followed by an opportunity for attendees to provide feedback on priority recommendations.
He previously told the Planning Commission that there would be several breakout areas and attendees will be ranking items via play money.
Parking and zoning are two areas that will feature specific stations as the city’s zoning ordinance will be re-written in the coming months.
“Parking was the hot button issue that kept coming back up,” Rossey added.
