Winners announced in Conservation District K-12 art contest

Healthy soil… healthy life.

The Warren County Conservation District’s second annual art contest for children in grades kindergarten through 12 is in the books.

There were 65 entries.

The entries were judged on April 4 and the top entries in each age group were awarded ribbons and prizes — $25 for first place, $20 for second, and $15 for third — courtesy of the Warren County Visitors Bureau.

The People’s Choice Award winners, determined by public voting from March 21 through April 1, also received ribbons.

The winners were:

¯ kindergarten through second — McKaylin Stoddard (first), Laura Fanelli (second), and Bella Smith (third);

¯ third through fifth — Noah Campbell (first), Kathryn Smith (second), and Emma Hughes (third);

¯ ninth through twelfth — no entries.

¯ sixth through eighth — Jude Gatto (first), Josie Pearson (second), and Emily Landers (third); and

The People’s Choice winners were: Stoddard (k-2), Campbell (3-5), and Landers (6-8).

PHOTO CONTEST

The third annual WCCD Photo Contest sponsored by Allegheny Outfitters is now open. Categories are: Rocks, Livestock, Storms, and Plant Life.

Entries (photos taken in Warren County) will be accepted until Sept. 16. More information is available by visiting www.wcconservation.net.
