A Warren man has pleaded guilty for statements made toward law enforcement when officers entered a residence that had been barricaded shut.
Steven R. Snyder, 34, Warren, entered the plea before Judge Gregory Hammond to terroristic threats and resisting arrest while two counts of aggravated assault were not prosecuted.
Snyder was charged in the wake of a Nov. 17 incident in Conewango Township.
Police learned that Snyder, who had active warrants from probation and theft charges, and a woman were staying on US Forest Service property -- a secured, old stone two-story house -- located at 95 Beaver Lane, just east of Buckaloons.
The door was barricaded. A forced entry was required and contact was made with the individuals.
"Snyder," police alleged, "stated that he had a weapon and anyone that comes up, he would kill them. Snyder brandished a green compound bow and later threw the bow down the stairs," striking an officer. "Snyder continued to disregard instructions from officers and later threw an eight foot wooden board down the stairs, causing officers to seek cover."
Police say that Snyder came down several minutes later and was "taken into custody without further incident."
Assistant District Attorney Casey Strickland told Hammond on Monday that she consulted the officers when negotiating the plea.
At a second docket from an unrelated incident, he pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking.
