Humanitarian aid is on its way from school children in Warren to Ukrainian refugees.
Students at St. Joseph Catholic School have been raising money to help refugees since they had a Zoom meeting with Sasha, 9, and Ivan, 11, in March.
The sister and brother and their mother are staying with a friend of Fr. Rick Tomasone’s in Bojnice, Slovakia. Their father had to remain in Kyiv.
On Wednesday, the students have one last chance to put their change or donations they collected in the community, into their classrooms’ jars.
The students had so far collected a total of $3,210.25.
Those dollars will go overseas and will go directly to support refugee families.
