Garden Club meets

The Warren Garden Club selected officers, talked programming and announced the date for the annual plant sale in the wake of a recent meeting. Installed for 2022-23 were Olivia Sechriest and Kristine Whitaker as co-presidents of the Club along with Priscilla Breese as recording secretary. Officiating for the ceremony was Bonita Herman, District VIII Director of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. The Club invites the community to its programs but noted that if you are not a member that a reservation must be made by calling the host chairperson at (814) 779-4527. The Club’s Annual Plant Sale will be held at Gen. Joseph Warren Park on May 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Annual and perennial plants, house plants and a garden flea market plus other garden needs will be on sale. The Club’s next meeting will be held at St. Joseph Church on May 19 at 1 p.m. Rebecca Ryan, Penn State Extension Master Gardener and member of Warren Garden Club, will present a program on antique roses. She will discuss how to choose the perfect rose for a garden as well as how to keep roses happy and healthy for years to come.
