Cast for ‘Rent’ from Warren Players announced

The cast for the Warren Players performance of the rock musical that changed the landscape of American theater is set.
Players will present “Rent,” from April 28 through May 1, at Struthers Library Theatre.
“Director Jen Bailey, Assistant Director Corey Bailey, and Vocal Director Kevin Hunt are thrilled to announce the cast of Rent, featuring Warren Players veterans and several performers who are new to the Struthers Library Theatre stage:
Angela Abreu, Kelsey Angove, Amanda Beil, Hillary Belin, Colette Bonavita, Chelsea Burkett, Brionna Childs, Derek DeVlieger, Dannielle Fickenworth, Caleb Foley, Michael Giambelluca, Holland Isaacson, Claire Johnson, Cynthia Klenowski, Titus Miller, Dave Oberg, Adam Owens, Christine Porter, Matthew Scott, Michael Stenberg, Emily Strong and Andrew Stalder.”
The 1996 musical is a re-imagining of Puccini’s La Boheme, set in the East Village of New York City, according to a Players release. “Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.”
The performance will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1.
The performance may not be appropriate for all audiences. The show is Rated R for mature themes involving drugs and sexuality, and some strong language.
