Warren woman charged for selling meth

A Warren woman faces a total of six felony counts for allegedly twice selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant last August.

Dotty M. Burke, 45, 2 S. Irvine St., was charged by City of Warren police this week.

Officers allege in the affidavit of probable cause that Burke sold methamphetamine to a confidential information twice last August.

The buys were conducted by the Warren County Drug Task Force.

Police say the informants arranged the sales via Facebook Messenger and that each took place at her residence on South Irvine Street.

“The controlled purchases were with $60 of pre-recorded buy money,” police said, “and yield(ed) two individually wrapped packages of methamphetamine” each weighing less than one gram.

Online court records show that Burke was arraigned at 10 p.m. on Wednesday before Forest County District Judge Daniel Miller and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

Burke faces two counts each of possession with intent to deliver as well as criminal use of a communications facility for arranging the sales via Facebook Messenger.

She was also charged with two first-degree felony counts of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities. Each of those charges carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
