Five more COVID deaths reported in county

There were five more deaths attributed to COVID-19 among Warren County’s numbers on Wednesday.

That matches the second-highest single-day of reporting.

There were multiple days in January when five deaths were reported. On Jan. 1, the Pennsylvania Department of Health added 10 to the county’s death toll.

There is a delay between the date of death and the report of that death as COVID-related by the department to provide time for confirmation. The five deaths reported Wednesday include three from Nov. 26 — the most recent COVID deaths to have been confirmed and released in the county. There were 65 deaths reported in January. November’s total of 29 is second only to that.

There were just short of 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the county in November.

The final day of statistics for the month was released Wednesday, with 32 new cases bringing the numbers to 999 for the month and 5,129 total.
