When the job market comes up in Warren County, discussion almost inevitably shifts to the businesses and industries that have left the county in recent decades.
What that discussion often overlooks is businesses here now that are growing and thriving.
The Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry has presented Growth & Expansion Awards to three area entities: JC Warren Real Estate, LLC; Paws Along the River Humane Society and the Warren County YMCA.
JC Warren Real Estate was the lone business presented with the award during the Chambers’ Celebration of Excellence Gala held at the Conewango Club.
John Papalia, director of chamber operations and tourism, explained that they were recognized “for the continued growth of staff, sales and community involvement in the community since opening in Warren County.”

The other two awards were presented to county non-profit organizations.
Paws Along The River, Papalia said, was credited for “growth in services” and “community education” but also the development of the Paws & Shop Thrift Boutique located next to the movie theatre at the Warren Mall.
The YMCA has opened branches in both Youngsville and Sheffield and that served as the basis for their award.
Papalia highlighted that they were recognized for the “offering of more services” as well as “continued community involvement.”
“The Growth and Expansion Awards as well as other business awards are done through a nomination process that come in from chamber members and community members,” he said.
