Hospice of Warren County recently hosted its 42nd annual Hospice Advisory Committee in the main ballroom of the Warren Women’s Club, celebrating their mission to provide Warren County residents with compassionate end-of-life-care, assuring dignity for mind, body, and spirit.
This year’s event highlighted two champion volunteers — Sandy Ransom and John Crone (posthumously) each with over 30 years of volunteer leadership. Ransom and Crone were inducted into the Hospice of Warren County Wall of Honor, an award that recognizes individuals who have shaped Hospice of Warren County in significant ways.
Shirley Crone, accompanied by her two sons, accepted the award on behalf of her husband John. Crone served as an expert consultant for the interdisciplinary team which meets to plan care around the patients’ unique needs. Crone was a supporter of the Hospice mission and its community initiatives. Also a veteran of the U.S. Army, Crone was recognized on Veterans Day.
Ransom, accompanied by her husband, accepted her award in recognition of her service.
Ransom continues her volunteer work by handwriting countless donor acknowledgments. The acknowledgments document the donor’s intent and provides survivors with personalized notes recognizing the loss of someone significant to them.

Crone and Ransom join Bob Crowley, Elsa Redding and Lisa To as members of the Wall of Honor, which also includes Dr. Roger Mesmer, Joseph Defrees, Mary Schorman, MaryAnn Buerkle and David E. Martin in a 42-year legacy of community leadership.
