County passes 5K total COVID cases
Warren County surpassed 5,000 total cases of COVID-19 on Thanksgiving Day.
According to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there had been a total of 5,001 cases in the county as of Thursday. There were six new cases Thursday and 37 of Wednesday.
There have been 4,168 confirmed cases in the county and 833 probables.
So far in November, there have been 867 new cases.
Two more deaths were announced this week, bringing that total to 151 for the county — 25 of them reported this month. That monthly total matches December for the second-highest in the county. Only January, with 65, had more.
The department is reporting elevated numbers of COVID-positive patients at Warren General Hospital.
According to the department’s zip code data, there have been 2,004 cases among people who live in the Warren zip code.
For the rest of the county: 380 in Youngsville; 291 in Russell; 254 in Sheffield; 228 in Sugar Grove; 203 in Pittsfield; 184 in Clarendon; 173 in Tidioute; 81 in Spring Creek; 68 in Grand Valley; 62 in Bear Lake; 57 in Columbus; and 39 in Irvine.
There have also been 1,598 casts in the Titusville zip code; 1,274 in the Corry zip; and 214 in Spartansburg — all of which include portions of Warren County.
