Winners announced in conservation photo contest

Photo submitted to Times Observer Soaking Up the Fun, by Victoria Hollis, was voted Best of Show in the second annual Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest.

The entries in the second annual Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest have been judged by members of the Warren Camera Club and the top three in each category announced.

There were 43 entries over four categories: birds, people in nature, flowers, and tractors.

The top three places in the bird category were: Rita Goldthwaite, Laura Roth, and Laura Roth.

For people in nature, the winners were: Victoria Hollis, Erika Dominick, and Barbara Scott.

The best flower photos were by: Erika Dominick, Christopher Goff, and Laura Roth.

In the tractor category, the top photos were by: Martin McQuillan, Martin McQuillan, and Christopher Goff.

The People’s Choice Awards, awarded through public voting held between Sept. 21 and Oct. 4, went to: Goldthwaite (birds); Hollis (people in nature); Hollis (flowers); and Goff (tractors).

Hollis’ Soaking Up the Fun was awarded Best of Show.

Gift cards, donated by Allegheny Outfitters, were awarded for Best of Show, People’s Choice, and all first-place photos.

The photos will remain on display at the Conservation District Office, 4000 Conewango Ave., Warren, until Nov. 1.
