DeJoy no longer employed by city of Warren

Warren’s lead economic development official is no longer employed by the city less than a year after he accepted the job.

City Manager Nancy Freenock confirmed that Vince DeJoy, the city’s director of codes, zoning and economic development, was no longer a city employee.

She, however, would not discuss the specific nature of DeJoy’s separation from the city, which is unclear.

“This is a personnel matter and I have no comment,” she said.

DeJoy served as director of development for the City of Jamestown before retiring in Nov. 2019. Prior to that, he was an elected member of Jamestown City Council during a career in the private sector in healthncare marketing and sales.

Between his time with Jamestown and his hiring here back in January, he briefly operated Jimmy’s Family Restaurant at the site of former Friendly’s.
