Bear Lake woman charged with assault

A Bear Lake woman is charged with assault after allegedly breaking her mother’s shoulder.

Jamie L. McCormick, 35, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, McCormick was involved in a dispute with her mother at McCormick’s home, shortly after midnight Sunday. Police said McCormick “head-butted, struck, and shoved” the woman resulting in injuries.

According to the affidavit, the alleged victim called her son, who gave her a ride to Corry Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries and hospital personnel called police.

Police saw a laceration to the alleged victim’s upper lip, and scratches on her head and neck, according to the affidavit. A doctor told police the alleged victim sustained a fracture of humeral neck, according to the affidavit.

McCormick was arraigned Sunday morning before District Judge Todd Woodin and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.
