The number of COVID-19 cases in Warren County is not close to the surge seen in December and January.
But, the numbers are growing.
Tuesday's report from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows 27 new cases, bringing the county's total to 2,835 -- 2,157 confirmed and 678 probables.
In the past week, there have been 89, according to the department.
Over that time, there were a total of 17 COVID-positive patients at Warren General Hospital.
The county deaths attributed to COVID-19 remained at 107, having not changed since early August.
As of Tuesday, 14,491 county residents were reported as fully vaccinated, with another 2,372 having had one dose of vaccine.
The Pfizer vaccine received full approval from the Food and Drug Administration last week.
About 300 county residents have received a dose of vaccine in that time -- with about 170 of those getting their first.
Since the last two weeks of June, Pennsylvania has seen its new cases go from about 200 per day to about 3,000 per day. On Thursday, Dec. 10, there were 12,787 new cases in the state -- the highest single day total.
In response to the statewide surge, Gov. Tom Wolf was expected Tuesday to announce a school-mask mandate for teachers and students.
