The Warren Bike-Hike Trail will be closed starting tomorrow between the East. St. Entrance and S. State St.

“Closure will be intermittent over the course of the next few weeks,” County Planner Dan Glotz said. “There will be barricades in place during times the trail is closed to the public.”

Portions of that section of the trail have been upheaved by roots and, in a couple places, have started to fall toward the Conewango.

The county commissioners approved approximately $90,000 in repair work to that portion of the trail back in July.

The work is being funded through the county’s Act 13 funding from unconventional oil and gas development in addition to a $6,000 grant.

“(That) section really needs to be worked on,” Commissioner Jeff Eggleston said when bids were awarded.. “(I) think everybody will be very happy once it’s done.”
