Fun events. Valuable information. Cool equipment.
The fourth annual Warren County Public Safety Fair has a lot to offer. The Safety Fair will feature tours, demonstrations, events for kids, raffles and prizes, safety seat checks, and more.
The event, sponsored by Lowe’s and the Warren County Department of Public Safety, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturday, Sept. 11, in the Lowe’s parking lot at 2625 Market Street in North Warren.
“Response agencies and community partners from all around the county will be present to showcase their services and apparatus,” Deputy Director of 911 Kale Asp said. “We are scheduling some demonstrations, such as a vehicle rescue demonstration, and are working on some fire safety demonstrations. There will also be free car seat checks from the Conewango Township Police Department, on site.”
The event isn’t just fun for visitors, it’s a chance for the providers to show people what they do, and generate interest in membership.

“It’s important for local Public Safety agencies to showcase their resources and services, to promote the great work that they do every day,” Asp said. “Also, it gives a chance for those who may be interested in joining a volunteer fire or EMS agency — to see the equipment and meet some of those in charge or who are volunteering, themselves.”
In addition to being a valued partner, Lowe’s provides a venue that offers plenty of space for things like tours of fire engines with huge ladders, demonstrations of how responders might cut apart a vehicle to get to victims trapped inside, CPR training with EmergyCare, a drug drop-off site and flag disposal services by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, child seat checks by Conewango Township Police, and practicing with a live fire hose.
“We have a great list (of events) so far” and that list is growing all the time, Asp said. “Anyone with an interest in public safety services or equipment, community resources, or anyone who wants to see some really awesome services and equipment from all around Warren County” is encouraged to visit the Warren County Safety Fair.
