Work is continuing on a major rehabilitation project at Crescent Park on Warren’s south side.

“We’re close,” City of Warren Department of Public Works Director Mike Holtz said of the status of the project.

Improvements coming to the park include trail work, lights, new restroom facilities, off-street parking and other infrastructure work. Holtz explained that all of the concrete work is complete, half of the trail is in and that a portion of the bases for the light poles have been installed.

The existing trail has been refurbished with the rest of the trail work creating a new trail around the playground area over to the area of the healing garden.

Holtz said the restroom was “gutted” — new plumbing, configuration, drinking fountain and roof.

He said the block walls are really all that weren’t replaced.
